Idea >

To create original, Singapore-designed, contemporary retail products inspired by Asian artefacts from Singapore’s national collection. Each product has an interesting story to tell, giving new meaning to the artefacts and shaping fresh perspectives of our heritage.

Curate >

Supported by the National Heritage Board’s Heritage Industry Incentive Programme (HI2P), we invited 13 different artists and designers from varied backgrounds in Singapore to collaborate with us on the collection. All were pushed out of their comfort zones to produce truly unusual works.

Branding >

IEX actually stands for “Ideas Empire Crossover”. Representing an open invitation to exciting collaborative possibilities, the logo is kept sleek and simple with the X deployed as a graphic device across all collateral. Partner names are included in the branding wherever applicable.

Products >

A breathtaking total of 40 products with 40 variants were produced across three categories – Food Prints (Ceramics), Cross Culture (Fashion) and Wearable History (Accessories). We tried to achieve 100% local production wherever possible.

Business Model >

Launched at the Asian Civilisations Museum, the collection was thereafter sold at 10 retail outlets, two online stores, four pop-up stores and two more exhibitions across two cities. In six months, we achieved an outreach of over 2,730,369. Media value estimates stand at $180,000.

Continuity >

We are looking for interested and like-minded collaborators to co-develop our next collection. If you are looking to create unique retail products, please drop us a note. Current collection available at the Museum Label Stores
